Stossel: A Better School Featuring ATI

We are so grateful to John Stossel for featuring the Academy of Thought and Industry in Austin on his show this past week!

We are so grateful to John Stossel for featuring the Academy of Thought and Industry in Austin on his show this past week! We have so many exceptional teenagers helping to shape ATI's culture of business-building and academic mastery, and we're humbled to have their stories highlighted.

This segment focuses a great deal on our students' personal projects, which include coding new apps, building foosball tables, starting a small business, costume design work, making websites for American Idol finalists, and even founding a local music festival.

At ATI, students also learn core academics—math, science, history, and literature—in an inclusive atmosphere, which we saw some glimpses of throughout the video. We're proud to combine these foundational classes with project-based learning to create a unique high school experience for teens who want to excel on their own terms.

You can learn more about ATI Austin and our other campuses in San Francisco, St. Louis, and Manhattan at the links below. (We're enrolling students age 12-18). Not local to these cities? Sign up for ATI Online. Classes start this summer.

Do ATI students only do professional work? What about the important academic classes?

In addition to project work, all of our students engage in our three core classes (life design, socratic and writing, and math and problem solving), as well as academic and project electives. To learn more about our program, please visit:

What is the cost? How do students afford the school?

Each of campuses have a different rate. Please email admissions@thoughtandindustry.com and we will send our a rate sheet, as well as information about scholarship options.

How do we access your program if we don’t live in a city with an ATI campus?

This summer, we are launching ATI online. Our pilot program will offer short courses over the summer break. We are exploring more offerings throughout the school year.
