ATI Experience: Socratic Humanities with Dr. Carrie-Ann Biondi
Professor Biondi will facilitate a Socratic Humanities conversation, in which attendees will engage in Socratic dialogue about a brief passage. This month we will focus on juxtaposing a poem by Rumi with one of Jacques-Louis David's paintings.
One of the signature components of the ATI program, Socratic Humanities is inspired by ATI Founder Michael Strong's book The Habit of Thought. Through active engagement with a wide range of classic and contemporary texts in small-group seminars, students develop the ability to read closely and deeply, analyze complex arguments, and become a capable writer of analytic essays.
